This page covers the TimeSheeta website and the TimeSheeta app. In it, “we” means TimeSheeta (owned by Dare Mighty Data Solutions, LLC), and “your company” means the legal, paying subscriber.
The short version. Your company decides what goes into TimeSheeta and who sees it. We hold what’s needed to record hours and send them to QuickBooks, and no personal details from employee records.
This website
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so we can improve our product. Google handles what it receives under its own privacy policy; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. To opt out, block cookies for this site in your browser or install Google’s opt-out add-on.
- If you email us, we keep your message and address to reply to you.
- If you book a demo, you do it on Cal.com, which collects your name, email address and the time you chose, and passes this information on to us. Cal.com’s own privacy policy covers its page. We may follow up by email about TimeSheeta; ask us to stop and we will.
- If you subscribe to our newsletter, you do it on Buttondown’s page. Buttondown keeps your email address for us and sends the newsletter. Buttondown also tells us whether you open each issue and which of its links you click. We use this information to see what our readers find useful. Every issue has a link to unsubscribe. Buttondown’s own privacy policy covers its page.
- If we get in touch first, we found your business contact details through a referral, a trade association or a public business listing. Ask us to stop and we will.
- Our hosting provider Render keeps standard server logs, which record the IP address a request came from and the page it asked for.
The app
Your company decides who uses TimeSheeta and what information goes into it. For the hours and QuickBooks records described here, we act on your company’s behalf.
What we hold
- People who use the app: name, email address, the roles your company gives them, and a password hash. We never see or store a password in readable form.
- Sign-in sessions: when each one started, and the description a browser gives of itself, such as its name and the device’s operating system.
- Hours: the job, day, worker, service item, payroll item, class and notes, as users enter them.
- Records read from your QuickBooks file: customers and jobs, service items, classes, payroll items, and employees’ names with the payroll items each is set up with and whether QuickBooks pays them from timesheets.
- The activity log: who signed in, entered, submitted, corrected and approved what, and when. Failed sign-ins record the email address that was tried.
- Your company’s logo, if you upload one.
What we never take from QuickBooks
Pay rates, Social Security numbers, birth dates, gender, ethnicity, citizenship, military status, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. The app has nowhere to put them.
What stays on the device
The app keeps the week being worked on, and the sign-in, in the browser’s storage on that device, so it works with no signal. Hours that have not reached us yet stay there until they have.
How the app protects all of this is on the security page.
If someone else enters hours on your behalf
Your employer uses TimeSheeta to record your hours and pay them through QuickBooks. We hold your name as it appears in your employer’s QuickBooks, the hours entered for you, and the jobs and payroll items they were entered against. Your employer decides what is recorded and who sees it, so questions about your hours or your pay should go to them.
Your company’s account with us
When your company subscribes, we keep the names and contact details of the people we deal with there, what was agreed, and invoice and payment records.
Who else handles your data
- Render is used to host TimeSheeta in the United States.
- Squarespace runs our domain names.

Records retention
We keep your company’s data while you subscribe. When the subscription ends, we delete it within 60 days, or sooner if you ask. Invoices and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Contact
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete information about you. If your employer uses TimeSheeta, ask them first. If you write to us, we pass the request on and help them answer it.
