# Hours arrive in QuickBooks, but are never paid

> QuickBooks accepts hours for an employee who isn't paid from timesheets, and never pays them. How to find them and fix the setting.

If an employee is set **not** to use time data to create paychecks, QuickBooks accepts their
hours without complaint and never pays them. The QuickBooks tab lists anyone set that way.

In QuickBooks, fix this setting in the employee's **Payroll Info** screen (**Employees → Employee Center**, right-click
the employee, **Edit Employee**). Tick **Use time data to create
paychecks**, then **OK**.
